What services exactly is Linguo developed to provide?
Linguo is developed to break the barriers and limitations of African languages. And to restore the lost values in our written and spoken forms of our languages as these would preserve our languages and cultural values.
Although, Text Translation and Text to Speech services are what we currently provide but the dream goes beyond these.
How many languages does Linguo currently provide services for?
We can not (at this time) give the exact number of languages and dialects that Linguo TTS service currently support.
We designed it to support as many Niger-Congo and Yoruboid languages as possible. Therefore we need our users from all part of Africa and the entire world to
test the system and give us feedback if it supports their languages and what ammendments need to be made.
Currently, we could confidently say that Linguo supports more than 15 languages including all dialects of Yoruba (with number names) and Igbo languages and we are currently
working on adding Hausa language and its dialects.
Can I use Linguo API to develop free or paid applications?
Yes. Linguo backend is as natural as it can be. The backend code currently consists of about 15,000 lines of code.
The high number of the lines is as a result of we opting to implement most of Linguo features from the scratch rather than embracing already existing
third-party libraries along with their restrictions and limitations. So, Linguo is proprietary.
Therefore, you can use the free API and plugin version and embrace is limitations or you could use the paid version to have full access to all the services
that linguo provides.
How do I use Linguo?
You can download the free or paid versions of our applications on various platforms. And you can use also the free or paid version of the API to develop your own
Or you could embed the free or paid version of our Plugin directly onto your website.
We assure you of service continuity.
And that no African language would be left out in our services.
